Mobile access with a SIM card for Switzerland
With Airport Telecom’s prepaid SIM cards Switzerland, you can use mobile Internet throughout Switzerland. You can choose from different data and call bundles. These bundles are very suitable for internet use and give you access to Email, Whatsapp, navigation and other internet applications via a fast 4G/5G connection.
Data and calls while traveling in Switzerland
The phone number of the prepaid SIM card on which you can be reached in Switzerland will be sent to you by SMS after activation of the SIM. It is an English (+44) number. We chose this because the sim in question offers a very good data bundle in Switzerland and uses the largest Swiss mobile networks. Moreover, this sim card does not require user registration in Switzerland.
Whatsapp with SIM card Switserland
All calls that run over the Internet such as with Whatsapp, Skype and FaceTime are of course also possible with the SIM cards for Switzerland. You will then use the data bundle on the sim card. You can always continue to use Whatsapp with your own existing contacts, groups and chats. After installing a prepaid sim card, Whatsapp may ask if you want to create a new identity or if everything should stay as it was. If so, choose the latter and nothing will change. You can then continue to send messages and make calls with Whatsapp as usual.
Coverage in Switserland
Coverage of mobile networks is generally excellent in Switzerland. This is especially true in major cities such as Geneva and Zurich. In very remote natural areas there may be somewhat less coverage. Otherwise, there is good coverage in all villages and towns with Switzerland SIM cards.
