Mobile internet in Canada with a Canadian SIM Card

With Airport Telecom’s Canadian prepaid SIM cards, you can use mobile internet throughout Canada. There is a choice between a 12GB and an Unlimited data plan. The plans are valid for 30 days from the moment you arrive in Canada. They are ideal for internet use and provide easy access to email, WhatsApp, navigation, and other internet applications.

Data and Calling in Canada

The data plans on SIM cards provide access to Canada’s fast 4G and 5G networks. These sim cards do not have a dedicated phone number. Calling from Canada is still possible using services like FaceTime and WhatsApp

Whatsapp with a Canadian SIM Card

All calls made over the internet, such as with WhatsApp, Skype, FaceTime, etc., are also possible. You will then use the data plan on the SIM card. Just like with all other apps, you can continue to use WhatsApp as usual. Once WhatsApp detects that a different SIM card is in your phone, it may ask you whether you want to create a new account or leave everything as it was. If you choose the latter, nothing will change on WhatsApp. You’ll simply keep your existing WhatsApp identity with all your contacts, groups, and chats.

Coverage in Canada

Coverage in Canada with the prepaid SIM card is excellent in and around all major cities like Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal, as well as in other populated areas. Enjoy restaurants in Vancouver and the lively atmosphere of Quebec City, and your WhatsApp and Instagram will also work. Importantly, in Canada, there’s also plenty of stunning, remote nature without mobile phone coverage. If you’re traveling, for example, driving along the famous Icefields Parkway to Banff and Jasper National Parks, and to the turquoise-green Peyto Lake, you’ll encounter places where mobile phones won’t work because there are no cell towers. Even among the foxes, moose, and bison near Whitehorse, Yukon, you probably won’t be able to send WhatsApp messages. You’ll have to wait until you’re near the CN Tower in Toronto or Niagara Falls, for example, as they are located in populated areas and therefore work well.

Free home delivery

The Canada SIM card is delivered free of charge to your home. Orders placed on weekdays before 2:00 PM will be shipped the same day. Depending on the location, delivery usually takes one or two business days. Need it faster? Choose the eSIM, which is sent directly by email.

Advantages of a Canada SIM card

The Canada SIM is available in all sizes (mini, micro, and nano) and fits any phone.
Hotspot and MIFI functionality do work with this Canada SIM card.

Data & Calling in Canada

There are two versions of the Canada SIM card:

SIM 12GB data € 49,=

Includes 12GB data in Canada

SIM Unlimited data € 89,= *

Includes unlimited data in Canada *

Data bundles are valid for 30 days after activation.

(*) There is a Fair Use Policy on the Unlimited bundles. In the event of excessive data usage, the provider in Canada may limit the SIM’s capabilities.

How do I install the SIM card Canada in my phone?

Open the slider on the side of the phone. You can do this with the pin that came with the phone. If you don’t have this you can make one by bending a paper clip. Airport Telecom sim cards also come with an extra pin.

Remove your own sim card and keep it safe! Now insert the new SIM card. There is only one way to do this. You may have a phone that can hold more than one SIM card. Insert the new SIM card as an extra card.

Push the SIM card slide back into the phone now. If all goes well, you can now automatically use the new sim. The phone may ask you to do some additional settings.
