Using eSIM or a SIM card as a hotspot

A big advantage of e SIM and SIM cards offered by Airport Telecom is that they can be used as a hot spot and in a MIFI device.

How do you set up a hotspot on an Android mobile phone?

Open Settings.

Go to Network & internet, Connections, or Mobile network (the name varies by brand).

Tap Hotspot & tethering, Mobile hotspot, or Personal hotspot.

Turn on Mobile hotspot.

How to set up a hot spot on an iPhone?

Open Settings.

Tap Personal Hotspot. If you don’t see this option, go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) and look for Personal Hotspot there.

Turn on “Allow Others to Join.”

If it doesn’t work automatically:

Open Settings.

Go to Cellular (or Mobile Data).

Tap Cellular Data Network.

Scroll to the Personal Hotspot section.

Enter your mobile provider’s APN in the APN field.

Leave Username and Password blank, unless your provider requires specific details.

Go back to Settings and turn on Personal Hotspot.

How should I set up the MIFI device?

If the MiFi does not work automatically, you must manually enter the provider’s APN settings:

Connect your phone or laptop to the MiFi’s Wi-Fi network.

Open a browser and go to the MiFi’s management address (often 192.168.8.1, 192.168.0.1, or 192.168.1.1).

Log in using the administrator credentials (these are often found on the MiFi device or in the manual).

Go to Settings > Network > Mobile Network > Profile Management or APN.

Select New Profile or Manual.

Enter your provider’s APN details.

Save the profile and set it as active.

Enable mobile data and data roaming in the MiFi device’s settings menu.

Restart the MiFi if necessary.
